The Just Add Ink #322 challenge this week is a colour challenge.
I have to say that this really did in fact challenge me as they are not colours I work with very often. That being said I love a challenge and it is always fun to create something that is totally different to my usual style.
I haven’t used these cute bears from Clearly Besotted yet so it was nice to also play with a new stamp set. My stash of Clearly Besotted stuff is growing. I’ve already seen some sneaks of their release for August and know I am going to be tempted to buy them! I think these bears are so sweet.
Thanks for looking. Em
I am so in love with the newest release stamps from Clearly Besotted and when I say the sketch for CAS(E) This Sketch #183 I immediately thought of the adorable chameleon stamps that were part of their latest release.
Here is the sketch…
And here is my card featuring one of those super cute chameleons…
I thought the stripes of paint worked really well to keep in with the sketch. I am also super excited that this particular stamp set comes with two stamps – one that says “colour” and another with “color”. I so often avoid stamps sets because the spelling is wrong for us here in Australia. This way it keeps everyone happy!
I’ve used Copic markers to colour my little chameleon and inks from Altenew and Papertrey Ink for my paint strips.
Thanks for looking. Em
It has been a while since I played along at the Color Throwdown. I finally got my hands on some cute fairy stamps from Lawn Fawn that I have been admiring for ages and used the Color Throwdown #403 colours…
I think these little fairies are just sooo cute. I coloured them with Zig markers to get a graduated effect on their little dresses and used some glitter on their fairy wings for some fairy sparkle!
I hope you have a magical day! Em
I took some inspiration from a couple of different challenges to create the card I am sharing today.
I was inspired by the colours and images in this months Scrapbook Boutique Challenge with their beautiful moodboard and then I based my card design on the car featured over at the Muse Challenge #176.
I’ve finally had a chance to sit and create a few different cards over the last two days. I’ve missed having time to relax and make so it has felt so good to get back in to my crafty space again. Em
I’m still not feeling great but I was eager to participate in some of the wonderful challenges for Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire 2016. I figured the best way to start to feel better was a few hours of creative time and although I’m a little disappointed that my cards could have been nicer I had fun which is the main thing!
My first card is for the WATERCOLOR LIKE A MASTER WITH KAY MILLER I struggled a bit to find a stamp set that would work for the technique but settled on Super Succulents.
My second card was for the MASTERPIECE INSPIRATIONS WITH THE TEAM
When I saw this amazingly beautiful card by Dawn McVey I had to try and create a similar card!
She was inspired by Claude Monet – Water Lilies. I adore his paintings they are truly beautiful!
Here is my version of the card…
I have started a couple of other cards so I am eager to get in to my craft room and finish them off. After 2 weeks of school holidays my house is a mess so I’m torn between cleaning and cardmaking! There is not much of a choice is there?
Thanks so much for looking I am very excited to see all the cards everyone has created. Em
Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge #256 is spritzed stamps hosted by Melissa Phillips. I loved the feather card that Melissa created in her video but unfortunately I don’t own that stamp set so I chose to use my Doodle Feather stamps instead.
I also decided to use some blue ink on my background and spritzed this with water to make my background and then stamped my feather over the top. My sentiment is from Super Succulents which is fast becoming one of my favourites for sentiments as I really love the mix of fonts.
Thanks so much for stopping to look and for your kind comments! Em
This week over at the CASology Challenge #207 the theme is rough.
The past week I haven’t really touched my craft space. To start with the kids are still on holidays so we had lots planned…but then we all came down with some horrible bug. So I made this yesterday in honour of us all feeling “ruff”.
My cute little window die and doggy with sentiment are all from Clearly Besotted. I created a blue watercolour sky with my Zig markers and coloured my little dog in with them too. I’ve used lots of foam tape to give the window some dimension.
Thanks for looking. Em
This is my first time playing at the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. I went with the centre row of critters, border stamp and die cut stencil to create my card. Actually the kids chose that row because they wanted me to use critters!
My little critters are from Clearly Besotted and coloured with Copic markers and coloured pencils. I have used a woodpanel border stamp and die-cuts from Papertrey Ink to complete my card.
I was fortunate to have a few little helpers create along with me to make a card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #133. Just like me all 3 kids are big fans of the cute stamps from Lawn Fawn and agree with me that we need to collect each and every set. They love colouring in all the images just as much as I do!
The inspiration is this gorgeous mood board that has some of my favourite colours…
The kids help me to pick out which images and colours I could use in my card and decided that a pink haired mermaid with sun glasses (from the So Smooth stamp set) would be perfect to be just like the lady in the picture. They also loved the yellow tiles (or yellow brick road) so I incorporated that in to my card as well as a black circle and lots of yellow.
We had so much fun getting creative and I just love the sunglasses! Thanks so much for looking! Em
I’m pleased to say I actually made a card despite the school holiday chaos. Yesterday we had storms and hail. The kids were so bored because they couldn’t go outside. Then the power went out… and the kids really learn’t the true meaning of being bored! Thank goodness I had a charged i-pad that they could all fight over whilst we shivered in the cold with no heating and no way to even make a hot cuppa. Today I think the kids and I have new found respect and admiration for electricity.
Anyway whilst the power was out I coloured in some images from Simon Says Stamp to create a berry wreath for the Just Add Ink #319 Inspiration Challenge.
Apart from creating a wreath using the little branches and foam tape I also tried to incorporate the wood of the door by using a woodgrain stamp as my background. I’ve used similar colours from the picture with my little stars and dots.
I currently have the kids all making cards so hopefully I might get to make a few creations myself.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog! Em
