This week the challenge at Just Add Ink #326 is to Just Add Project Life! I have a heap of Project Life stuff but I have actually never considered using it in my cardmaking. So I really have to thank the Just Add Ink design team for opening up me eyes to a whole heap of cardmaking supplies!
For my card I used some gorgeous foiled cards from a mini kit I picked up at Spotlight. I cut them down but kept the rounded corners on both the large card I used as my background and the smaller card with my sentiment which I trimmed down to just the top without the journalling lines underneath.
Thanks for dropping by! Em
Over at the Simons Says Stamp Blog they are having a challenge for kids using glitter. When I suggested to my 9 year old daughter that she should have a go and enter her squeals of delight were hilarious. She loves being in my craft room and creating and she always comes up with some awesome ideas.
This time she decided she wanted to make fridge magnets using the fairy stamps I have from Lawn Fawn and she wanted to name them Fridge Fairies. We go through so much food in our house that the kids often joke it was the “Fridge Fairies” that raided the fridge rather than them! So here they are… her very own Fridge Fairies…
I even let her use my Misti and heat emboss for the first time by herself. I am also so proud of her colouring which she did with distress ink and patiently used the tiniest little brush to colour in her fairies.
Only problem now is I think she is addicted to crafting because she already can’t wait to “play with anything she wants in my craft room”. I may have created a crafting monster!!!
Today I am sharing some tags for the current Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #258 Cover Plate Tags Challenge. I actually made these last week and had completely forgotten about them so this is a very last minute entry!
To make my tags I used the tag die from the Papertrey Ink Folded Foodie. I then used some paper printed with toner and ran this through my die cutter with the Garden Gild coverplate die. I’ve used my Minc machine in one of the beautiful graduated green/blue to silver foils to transform my coverplate diecuts.
Unfortunately I really struggled to photograph these tags so that you can actually see the foil properly. In the end this was as good as it gets but if anyone has any tips on how to get a better picture I would love to know the secret!
Thanks for looking! Em
Just a quick post today as the internet connection here keeps dropping out and this is my third attempt at this blog post! I made this card using a combination of my favourite stamps from Altenew, Clearly Besotted and Papertrey Ink.
I took inspiration from the current moodboard over at The Scrapbook Boutique Challenge.
I love the combination of the white, green and grey they work so beautifully together!
I am also flying in with a last minute entry for the Case This Sketch #185 entry. This is the inspiration sketch this week…
I love the unusual shape of this sketch it was so much fun to work with.
Thanks for looking. Hopefully his time my post will work before the internet drops out again! Have a fantastic day! Em
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to have a few hours all to myself. I was so excited to have some uninterrupted crafty time and happily settled down at my desk with a nice hot cup of tea. That was my first mistake – I will never put a drink near the project I am working on ever again! Yep you guessed it I knocked the cup and destroyed my card.
I am proud to say I handled it very well and decided just to start again. What followed was a disastrous couple of hours of misplacing a stamp I was using (it was literally there and then gone), stamping a crooked sentiment, a paper trimmer that literally ate my paper and to top it off I even got a paper cut! In the end I gave up and decided it was dangerous for me to touch anything else. I was clearly in some sort of zone but it was not the “crafty zone”.
Fortunately today is a new day and I was able to finish off one of my creations this morning even with a toddler crafting next to me.
My layout is inspired by the current sketch at CAS on Sunday #89
I was also inspired by the colours and use of twine at House of Cards August Challenge
I am still loving this Papertrey Ink stamp with the beautiful ferns. It is so versatile and seems to work in any colour scheme. I also had so much fun with these colours as they are not tones I would normally go to but it is always fun to create out of your comfort zone. I’m just hoping for no more craft disasters for a while.

I was at the local newsagent the other week and spotted some gift with purchase stamps on one of the magazines. One of the sentiments was “the Earth has music for those who listen.” I thought this was such a beautiful saying and it just so happens that the Addicted To CAS Challenge #94 is music. I came up with a super simple design so my sentiment could literally sing off the card…
My flowers are from Simon Says Stamp and I did some very simple colouring with my Zig Markers. My son was even kind enough to lend me some of his music sheets for my photo! Thanks mate!

This week the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #257 challenge is hosted by Lexi and the technique is to use Sentiment Strip Grounding.
I’ve used the cute little pots and succulents from Papertrey Ink’s Super Succulent stamps and die set to come up with my design. I also used a wood panel stamp for my background and my new Papertrey Ink It’s The Thought stamp set.
I can hardly believe that it is nearly release time again at Papertrey Ink and there are so many new things in the sneak peeks that I absolutely love! My fingers are crossed that the Australian Dollar may improve over the next couple of days so I can go on a shopping spree but I think it may just be wishful thinking!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop and take a look! Em
The theme word this week at Casology Week 210 is Dizzy which was a tricky theme for me. I went in to my stash and struggled to come up with an idea for quite some time. Eventually I came up with this…
The off-set swirl concentric circles are stamps from Clearly Besotted that I stamped over and over and then cut in to a circle and matted with black. My cute little cat is coloured with Copic Markers.
I look forward to seeing what other people came up with for Dizzy! Em
We had beautiful sunshine here yesterday but it has all too soon disappeared and has been replaced with grey sky and lots and lots of rain. The up side is it is a great excuse to stay inside and create so I decided to play along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 15
I went for the bottom line Bokeh effect, staple and birds of a feather.
I created my Bokeh like background using water and ink to blend the colours together and create a blurred effect. My flamingo is from Papertrey Ink and it is the first time I have inked up this stamp. I have inserted a piece of vellum behind my circle to soften the colour of the pink card base.
The CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #185 features these pretty hues of blue to use on your creations this week.
The blues reminded of when I was a little girl and my mum used to collect blue and white ceramic pieces like the old Willow Pattern plates. I used to love to stare at the tiny patterns on the plates and was inspired by this for my card.
I heat embossed my stamp from Papertrey Ink in white and then I carefully coloured in the little pieces with my Zig Markers and a tiny bit of water for blending. The pieces are so tiny so it was tricky not to make a mess outside the lines! I’ve then used some bling (which is hard to see but has lots of sparkle) and white pears for my tiny little flowers.
Thanks so much for visiting. Em
