Reindeers & Glitter…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. I’ve just pulled the Christmas tree out and this year I even let the kids do the majority of decorating it. I say majority because the truth is after they had gone to bed I snuck in and re-arranged it a bit. The concept of not putting all the good decorations in one spot is foreign to them!

Anyway I couldn’t resist a Christmas challenge and despite my plans to be super organised this year I am already behind with making Christmas cards! I fell in love with this colourful mood board from Scrapbook Boutique November Moodboard.

I was inspired by the reindeer and the glittery baubles.

Then I saw the current challenge over at AAA Cards #78 is to create a card using circles which worked in perfectly with my plan for this card!

So here is my card using the beautiful Moodboard and circles…

My reindeer is cut with my Silhouette machine and then I simply used a couple of punches to create some glittery circles. I’ve used lots of foam tape for some dimension and finished it all off with a sentiment stamp from Ali Edwards. I think it is one from her December Daily kits.

This was pretty quick to make so I am thinking this might be a good one to re-produce a few more times. Otherwise I’m afraid I won’t get any cards posted in time!

Thanks for looking! Em

I’m Back…

My poor blog has been neglected the past month. With all the craziness of Christmas already in full swing and a family holiday up to the Gold Coast there has been literally no time for card making. I am still wading my way through the mountain of washing that a family of five have made over our trip.

I am seriously drowning in a sea of washing, school notes for meetings, kindy concerts, graduations, class parties etc and then last night my daughter announced she has put my name down to make cupcakes for a cupcake stall tomorrow! Hmmmm…..

So yesterday I gave up on all the washing, cleaning etc and took a break to have some creative time. It was so nice to have a couple of hours to clear my head!

I decided to play along with the current challenge at Case This Sketch #199 .

Here is the sketch…

And here is my take on the sketch…

I’ve used a couple of stamp sets from Clearly Besotted. The panda stamps are from Cheering For You set and then I have used the paint swipes from their Chameleon set. I’ve used my Zig Markers to colour with and then just used some glitter stickles on the pom poms. It was a nice and simple card to make but just what I needed to get back in to making again. Now I need to keep working on Christmas cards!

Thanks for stopping to look! I’m now off to bake cupcakes for school! Em
