Well it is nearly the end of February already and we have another fun sketch by Jane to inspire our crafty card creations this week!
Given that I am seeing easter eggs in all the shops now I immediately saw the circles and thought of easter eggs! So I have gotten an early start on Easter cards with my card for this week.
For my background I used some watercolour paper and a couple of Zig markers to make a very simple watercolour background. I love how the Zig markers blend so easily! I then cut out some oval eggs from glitter cardstock and also popped a little Wink of Stella on my bunny just to give some sparkle!
Don’t forget to play along this week. I can’t wait to see all the different takes on the sketch! Em
I’m one of these people who quite often sees a particular item and buys it not because I have a particular use for it but I think it might come in handy someday! One of these such items was some woven pieces of material that I picked up in a cheap shop years ago and just popped away in my stash. When I sat the current inspiration – Woven at the Curtain Call February Challenge I immediately though of these woven bits!
To make my card I have used a MFT window die and overlapped strips of my material to the back. I’ve then used a MFT stamp set that only arrived the other week so this was the first time using it.
I’ve Copic coloured my little lamb and used this super cute sentiment from the same stamp set. I then used some foam tape on the back to give some dimension to my panel and added a stitched line along the base of my sentiment using a Lawn Fawn stitched die. Other than that I kept it really simple as I really wanted the woven texture of my fabric to be the star of the card.

This week at the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge we have another bright and bold colour palette! This combination really had me thinking…
I decided to colour my bear using the tones of Peakaboo Peach and some accents of Watermelon Wonder. I actually had a bear this colour when I was a baby. In fact if I searched hard enough I probably still have him somewhere. I’ve used some glossy accents on my Cucumber Crush icing and this really gorgeous set of embossing plates from Lawn Fawn to create my faux stitching. I also had to include a few drops of my new Nuvo drops that arrived this week just because I am a bit obsessed with them at the moment and feel compelled to use them on everything! They really are addictive!
I can’t wait to see some bright and cheery creations this week and hope that you will join in the challenge at CAS Cards and Sketches this week. Em
Today I decided to have a play along with the sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch #208 whilst I not so patiently waited for a package of new stamps to arrive. I have been stalking the front door waiting for the delivery man to arrive but suspect he will arrive whilst I am out doing the school pick-up!
To create my card I have used my newest Avery Elle stamp and added some Wink of Stella to my trees to give a moonlight glow. I made the crescent moon using a coin to trace around.
Thanks for looking! I’m going back to stalk the letterbox! Em
I’m back this time with a fun sketch challenge for CAS Colours & Sketches. This week we have a super fun design.
I don’t generally make a lot of weddings cards simply because I don’t know a lot of people who are getting married. I did however fall in love with a wedding stamp set from Lawn Fawn and decided it was a must have for my growing collection. I decided to go for bold and modern colours, lots of foam tape on my circles for dimension and some sparkly green/aqua ribbon.
Don’t forget that you are free to flip/rotate the sketch. I can’t wait for another week of beautiful creations and hope you will join in! Thanks for looking! Em
I’ve been in a bit of a creative slump lately so I thought getting some new stamps should hopefully spur me on creatively. One of my new sets is from Avery Elle and I absolutely love it. I thought it would work in so well with the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches #274!
I’ve coloured my trees with a grey Zig marker and then blended with a Wink of Stellar pen. Unfortunately all that pretty sparkle doesn’t seem to want to be photographed but in real life you can definately see all the sparkle – trust me! I’ve also popped some glossy accents on to my green leaves just to add some texture and shine.

This week the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge is hosted by Amy and she has a fun video on adding stamped dangles to your card sentiment. I chose to go with the happiness stamp from Garden Gild and used some tiny stamps from several different Papertrey Ink sets to create my little dangled images.
Thanks for visiting! Em
It has been a while since I played along at the Color Throwdown challenge. With the kids back at school I’ve finally had a bit more time to create. I loved the colours for this week’s challenge!
I went with a CAS style and created a card using my favourite fox stamp from Clearly Besotted. He is simply coloured with Copic markers. My black and white spotted paper is actually a velvet texture whilst my teal paper has a grainy texture and my orange pattern paper has a slight gloss finish. I really liked the combination of the different textures. I’ve also layered them so they are at slightly different heights. Then I simply added a heart die from Papertrey Ink over the top of the papers and some enamel dots.
Thanks for taking the time to visit today! Hugs! Em
Well it is time for the first challenge for February over at CAS Colours & Sketches! This week we are back to another colour challenge… and these colours certainly reminded me of Valentine’s Day!
Given that I don’t have a lot of Valentine themed stamps etc I chose instead to heat emboss some Painted Flower stamps from Altenew in white and then ink over the top with the three red/pink shades so they all blended in to each other.
I then cut my panel on an angle with a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. Once I’d attached the sentiment I thought the card looked a little plain so I heat embossed some flowers in white down one side of the card base. They are very subtle but I thought they added a little something extra that the card needed.
I hope you will be inspired to play along this week at CAS Colours & Sketches – I look forward to seeing where your creativity leads you! Em
