Out of This World!

I am sneaking in with a last minute card for the current challenge at CAS(e) this Sketch #222 as as soon as I saw the image I knew it would look super cute using my Lawn Fawn space boy stamps.

I’ve had this stamp set for a while as I really wanted to make more boys cards seeing as we go to so many boys parties but I really haven’t played around with it much until now. I’ve kept it very CAS with a hint of blue glitter paper and some pops of colour on my planets and a very bright space boy.

Thanks for visiting my blog today I hope your day is out of this world! Em

Hot to Trot!

I’m really excited to be hosting for the first time this week at CAS Colours & Sketches. For this challenge I had to come up with a sketch and I came up with something that is fairly versatile and will hopefully also inspire you to make some beautiful cards.

Here is my sketch…

And here is my card using the sketch…

Hot to Trott card

I’ve used this super cute little piggy from MFT along with one of the matching sentiments.  I left the rest of the card super CAS and with the black, pink and white colour scheme.

I would love for you to join in this week at CAS Colours & Sketches and share your cards using my sketch. I can’t wait to see all your ideas in the link up. Have a great week! Em

Something Fishy

I have been crazy busy this week with so many things and as luck would have it all my new stamps arrived at the same time that I was too busy to play with them! Included in those items was the new kit from My Monthly Hero. I absolutely love the ocean and anything to do with mermaids and fish so this kit was very “me”.

The first card I have made with the kit is for the current challenge at Muse Challenge #216 where Jenni Murray has created this card to draw inspiration from…

Given how much I love CAS cards I couldn’t wait to play along and have used one of the fish stamps from Hero Arts to create a little school of fish swimming along.

Sea you soon card

For my stitched rectangle I have used a die from Lawn Fawn and also the sentiment is from their Mermaid stamp set. For the background embossing I have used an embossing die which is so old I don’t even remember buying it. I kind of thought it reminded me of reeds in the water and also fits in with another challenge over at AAA Cards Game #90 where we need to use embossing on a CAS card.

I did add some shimmer to my little fish with a Wink of Stella pen but unfortunately it doesn’t show up in the picture!

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today! Em x

Tea Time

It’s time for a brand new colour challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches and this week we have Fiona hosting. She has chosen these colours for us to all play along with…

It is only the beginning of the week and I am already craving a quiet moment to just sit and have a relaxing cup of tea so I decided a tea cup would work well for this challenge.

Warm n Cozy crd

For my card I used the Altenew Tea Time stamps and a frame from Papertrey ink to bring in the Sahara Sand look. I then decided the plain white background was just a little boring so I used the spotty stamp from the Altenew Tags set and stamped the image over and over to create a background on my card base.

I’d love to see where these colours take you and hope you will join along at CAS Colours and Sketches this week! Em

Hey, Gullfriend!

I’m not much of a seagull person. They seem to always turn up when the food is on and don’t exactly have the best table manners. When I saw the new release from MFT though I had a bit of a giggle at the funny sentiments on their seagull stamps and decided I needed this set.

Hey Gullfriend card

I went for a very muted seagull (I guess they aren’t exactly colourful birds) so I compensated for that with some ultra bold colours with my bold wavy sea, golden sand and red card base. I’ve used a Lawn Fawn wavy die to get my ocean curve.

I based my card layout on the current sketch over at Cas(e)ThisSketch #221.

I went bright & beautiful with my colours to fit in with the current challenge at AAA Cards Game #89 Bright & Beautiful

I can’t wait to post this card off to a special friends who I know will get a laugh out of the silly sentiment. Thanks for stopping to visit my blog. Em

Love & Hugs

I got to attend the school Mother’s Day breakfast this morning. A group of Dad’s (including my husband) cook up a beautiful breakfast for all of us mum’s and then we get to sit and have breakfast served up by the kids. It is such a beautiful community event and a highlight each year.

I decided when I got home that in the spirit of Mother’s Day I would take some time for myself and go create in my craft room. I came up with this last minute card for the current challenge at Inspired By All The Little Things #55

I recently purchased this new set from Altenew so I decided that I would use it to create some flowers in the pretty orange/yellow tones. I sometimes find the layered stamps really tricky but these were pretty to use and I love how different the results were depending on the ink colours.

Thanks for looking! Em

A Difference…

It is time for a new challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches. Over the next few months we are each taking a turn at hosting and this week Karen is bringing us this fun and interesting sketch…

It took me a little while to work out what to do with this sketch but in the end I decided to go for a very simple stamped pattern and keep my card to a very select few colours.

A Big Difference

The flowers are from a gorgeous set from Altenew and I can’t wait to sit down and experiment with colouring these blooms. Unfortunately my kids are tagging teaming each other getting sick so I haven’t had the time – yet!!!

Don’t forget to visit the CAS Colours & Sketches blog to see all the design team creations and to hopefully enter a card in the challenge. Have a great week! Em
