I am flying in with a super quick post tonight for the latest challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. I have spent the past few days on the couch extremely unwell but fortunately I was able to sneak in a card for the latest sketch challenge.
Here is the sketch
And here is my card…
I hope you get a chance to play along this week! Em x
This week over at CAS Colours and Sketches Patricia has a great colour combination for us to create a card with. I had a lot of ideas as these colours could work well with so many images.
In the end I decided to use a cute little bird stamp from Clearly Besotted. I am noticing birds seem to be the new “big thing”in the stamping world! I have a few bird stamps on order but postage to Australia is incredibly slow so I will be waiting a couple more weeks before they arrive so it was a good opportunity to play with some older stamps.

Just literally flying in with a last minute entry for the current challenge at Muse Challenge #253 which uses this super cute card as inspiration for your creation…
I was inspired by the blue background to create a sky scene and to include a cute little bear.
I’ve used my cloud stencil from MFT and for something a little different I put the clouds on both the front and back of the card. My bear and sentiment is also from MFT and I thought it would be cute to have him flying in the clouds!
Have a great day! Em
This week Patricia is over on the CAS Colours and Sketches blog with a retro design for us to all play along with. I have to say when I first saw the sketch I was a bit concerned as I am not a tag type of person.
I did attempt a card with a tag but it looked terrible so have I discarded that one and decided to flip the sketch and go with a bird instead.
Using Alcohol Ink seems to be the big thing at the moment and I have seen so much amazing inspiration online that I decided to have a play around. I used one sheet for my strips and another to die-cut my bird which is from Hero Arts and has a lovely 3d effect on the wings. I then used one of my favourite sentiments from Papertrey Ink to finish off my card!
I am still hoping to come back to my original card and see if I can make it work. I always hate seeing failed cards on my desk so I am determined I can make a tag work. I can’t wait to see all your cards this week. Don’t forget to visit the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog to see all the wonderful Design Team Inspiration! Em
I have had to take it very easy the last few weeks as my health hasn’t been good. It is funny how when you are forced to slow down the many little things in life you realise are so important. It seemed very fitting that I pull out a stamp I haven’t used for a long time with a sentiment which really suits where I am at with things at the moment. It also works in well with the current challenge at Less Is More #364 Music.
I started my card by inking up a stencil from MFT of little clouds and then stamped my sentiment over the top. I then die cut a heart from a Lawn Fawn set and mounted my sky background with the sentiment behind. I also added a few very subtle Nuvo drops in clear and Duck Egg Blue. I mounted the panel on a piece of card that I had created with Distress Oxide Ink and water and then on to my card base.
I’m not sure who I will send this card to but it is a nice one to have in my stash as I just love the sentiment! Thanks for coming to visit my blog today. Em x
Over the weekend I thought I would experiment with stamping with my Oxide Inks to see what sort of results I would get when the colours blended. Some looked terrible but I got a few images that I though had a really interesting look to them. I decided to make one of them in to a card for the current challenge at Muse Card Club #252. The inspiration is this pretty card from Anita Bowden.
And here is my take on the card using my Oxide Ink stamped images.
Thanks for visiting today! Em x
Wow it’s February already! We’ve had some beautiful hot days here in Australia and I am sad to think this is the last month of summer. If you can’t already tell I am a summer person I cannot stand the cold weather!
This month at CAS Colours and Sketches Patricia is the host and we are up to a colour challenge!
I have to say I probably wasn’t overly creative with this challenge as I saw the name Wild Wasabi and thought about sushi. So I made a sushi card!
This stamp set is from MFT. I partially stamped the bamboo ( I left off the leaves on one side) to form a little shelf for the sushi to sit on.
I hope you get a chance to check out all the wonderful design team inspiration at the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog and make a card for our challenge this week! Em
