We are still enjoying Summer holidays here in Australia. Lots of nice sleep ins and time in the pool as we try to keep cool. Unfortunately my craft room has been somewhat abandoned for the time as the kids and I enjoy the last couple of relaxing weeks before the chaos of the new school year begins.
I did manage to sneak in a quick card for the colour challenge this week at CAS Colours and Sketches. Beverley is our host for January and she has chosen this really pretty trio of colours for us to create with!
I had quite a few ideas for this combination but one of my gifts for Christmas was the Altenew layered rose set and I was super keen to ink it up. The flowers and sentiment are both from this set! I double stamped the stem of flowers so they were intertwined.
To finish the card off I White heat embossed a Hero Arts dotted stamp and added a grey ribbon for some texture as the rest of my card is very simple.
Don’t forget to check out the CAS Colours and Sketches blog for all the Design Team inspiration. I hope you get a chance to play along this week.
The past few weeks have seemed to zoom past and today we are back at CAS Colours and Sketches with a new challenge after taking a break for a couple of weeks. To start the year off Beverley has come up with this cute sketch.
I decided to use a Lawn Fawn die to create a little slot and and I attached a cat from MFT stamps so that it is hanging from the slot.
Then when you open the card you can see the back of the cat…
I hope you get a chance to play along this week. Check out all the Design Team inspiration on the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog.
Have a great week! Em
I’ve just finished up another card featuring The Sweet Friends stamp from Lawn Fawn. This card is for the latest challenge over at CASology .
I’ve kept my card super CAS and let my little S’more be the star. I can’t wait to send this off to one of my friends – I am sure it will make her smile!
Thanks for visiting! Em x
It seems like ages since my last post! It is summer holidays here so I have been busy keeping the kids occupied, entertained, fed, happy etc etc etc. I’m exhausted!!! I was super excited when the Sweet Friends set arrived from Lawn Fawn this week especially when the kids were just as excited as it mean’t they were happy to sit and stamp + colour with me for a few hours. There is nothing like some creative family time inside on a 43 degrees celsius day!
I’m entering my card in to the current challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #253 plus the challenge at Lawnfanatic Challenge #20 – Fun With Food
I’m hoping to sneak back in to my craft room today to finish off another couple of cards using these images! What a pity my kids are too old for nap time! Have a great day and thanks for visiting today!
Wow it’s hard to believe that 2017 is nearly over. Over at CAS Colours and Sketches we have the very last challenge for this year. Similar to the colour challenge from last week, this week you can choose any sketch challenge from our 2017 gallery and make it seasonal.
I chose to make a card to to fit with Sketch Challenge #237!
My card uses one of my favourite Christmas stamp sets featuring sweet little mice and is from Clearly Besotted. I teamed my little mouse up with a trio of windows that are cut from a Papertrey Ink die (it was part of a Christmas set from a couple of years back) and it cuts all the tiny pieces out to reveal what is behind the window. I used some distress oxide ink to make a night sky and mounted this behind my windows with some foam tape for dimension.
Have a great week and hopefully you will get a chance to play along at CAS Colours and Sketches this week! Em
I don’t know about everyone else but December seems to be flying for us. I only have to look at the calendar to see all the events we have on this month and it sends me in to a panic. My older 2 kids are also about to become Primary School seniors (gulp – that sounds so grown up and makes me feel old!)
I’ve also been flat out with our gorgeous little puppies. They are so sweet and I know I am going to shed many tears when they go to their new families. I’m still trying to convince hubby that one of them will be staying with us. Hopefully the awesome Christmas presents I am getting him will soften his heart!
Anyway in amongst all the chaos I have found time to create a card for this week’s challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. This week is a little different in that you can select any colour challenge from 2017 and create a festive themed card! I decided to go with the colours from Challenge #239.
My stamps are all from Papertrey Ink and Hero Arts. I used a word die from Hero Arts that I die cut several times to add dimension and then heat embossed! I also included some very subtle white sequins for some added texture!
I hope in amongst the chaos of December you get a chance to play along this week at CAS Colours and Sketches. Em
A quick post from me tonight as I am flat out but wanted to share my card for the latest challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. This week we have a sketch to play with!
I have been searching everywhere for birch tree looking paper but other than paying an obscene amount of money on postage I have found nothing. Instead I did find some contact paper from Kmart and so I have adhered this to my card base which has a really interesting texture especially to such a CAS card.
Thanks for looking! Have a great week… Em x
