Puppy Hugs!

It has been a super busy week in my household. On Sunday these gorgeous little guys arrived!

Unfortunately their mum has had a hard time and I am hand-rearing all four. They feed every 3 hours so it has been like have newborns all over again. I forgot how hard those early days with babies is and just how crappy sleep deprivation makes you feel. However it is all worth it and I feel so blessed to be watching and helping these little ones!

Anyway I was a bit worried that I might not have a card this week for the CAS Colours and Sketches Sketch challenge. Fortunately I have been able to sneak in a little bit of crafty time.

Here is this week’s sketch…

And here is what I came up with…

Green & Silver

It’s November and so I am handing over hosting at CAS Colours and Sketches to Samantha who has come up with a great silver and green colour challenge for us to all play along with this week.

I adore you 2 card

I’ve used an Altenew set to stamp some layered leaves and then I have heat embossed the co-ordinating berries in metallic silver. I noticed some of the embossing powder has stuck to the leaves (despite using my anti-static) but I decided I quite like the look of the sparkle on the leaves.

Well it’s Halloween and even scarier than that it is the end of October. Christmas here we come!!!

Today I am bringing you a double challenge as host of CAS Colours and Sketches for the month of October. When there is a fifth Tuesday in a month we get to pick an old sketch and retired Stampin Up Colours for you to play around with!

Given that Christmas is now just around the corner I decided to create a Christmas card…

Peace & Blessings!

This is my third week hosting for the month of October on the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog and this week it is sketch time again…

For my card I created some partially foiled card using some Heidi Swap Minc paint and used a coarse brush to ensure I got some distinctive brush stroke lines. I then Minced this and diecut the cardstock using a Papertrey Ink leaf die.

Here is my card…

In the craft room today…

I had a little time to play this afternoon in my craft room and decided to create a card for the current challenge at Muse Card Challenge #237 using this really sweet card from Tracey McNeely as inspiration…

I love how the flowers are coloured but the foliage is left blank – it gives a really elegant feel to her card. I was inspired to do the same by partially colouring my Altenew stamped flowers using similar tones of yellow and orange. I mixed and matched an Altenew sentiment and a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Yellow Flowers card

I also thought I would share the card that I made for the Challenge that Muse had last week. I took the kids out crabbing as it is school holidays and completely forgot to put my card up!

The inspiration card was from Anita Bowden and looks like this…

I used a masking technique to create a rectangle panel, then heat embossed some leaves in white. I then used some oxide inks to sponge over the top and some vellum to stamp and adhere my sentiment. The “wonderful” word was die cut using some scraps of paper that I have minced using gold foil.

Thanks for visiting today! Have a great weekend! Em

Out of This World!

I’m back again this week as host for CAS Colours and Sketches for the month of October. This week I’ve designed a sketch which hopefully you will have fun playing with!

I originally thought of hanging Christmas decorations for this sketch but I have been making a heap of different night sky type backgrounds and I thought I would use one of these instead!

I hope you get some time to craft this week and would love to see what fun ideas you come up with for this sketch. Don’t forget to check out the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog to see the gorgeous creations that the Design Team have created this week.
