This week over at CAS Colour and Sketches it is time for a brand new sketch!
For my card I have used one of my favourite stamp sets from MFT and I decided to reverse the sketch so that my bear was looking in to the card!
Don’t forget to check out the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge to see what the Design Team have created with the sketch for this week. I look forward to seeing all your entries. Em
Over at Muse Challenge #227 the theme is anything goes. Sometimes when I am given free reign I tend to struggle as I go overboard bringing out so many ideas until I become overwhelmed. That being said I actually really enjoyed having lots of creative freedom this time and found it really relaxing to limit myself to one stamp set and a couple of other items that I have purchased and not used very often.
The gorgeous stamp set is from the Hero Arts monthly kit from a couple of months ago. She has got lots of sparkle on her tail but it doesn’t show so well in the picture. The palm fronds are from Papertrey Ink. I inked up some paper with lots of green hues and then die cut the fronds. I love the sentiment and can’t wait to send this card off to a friend as a “just because card.” Having received a heap of bills in the post this week I always love sending out happy mail to friends just to brighten up their day.
Thanks for dropping by! Em x
It is cold, wet and windy here so the perfect day for some cardmaking. When I saw the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 299 I immediately thought of bamboo. Luckily I have an MFT stamp with bamboo images!
I kept the colours to a minimum with a big pop of colour for the sushi.
Thanks for visiting today! I hope wherever you are it is warm and sunny (unlike here!) Em x
Oh my gosh I can’t believe it is August! Over at CAS Colours & Sketches we have a brand new hostess for August – Patricia! This week she has some colours for us to play with!
I decided that these tones would work well with the My Monthly Hero Kit from July. Here is what I came up with…
I look forward to seeing your creations for this week. Don’t forget to check out the CAS Colours and Sketches blog for lots of inspiration from the Design Team. Have a great week! Em x
I really struggle with boys cards but given that the kids get invited to plenty of parties including lots for boys, I really need to stretch my skills as I hate buying cards. Why spend money on store bought cards that could be spent on new craft supplies!
I had an idea as soon as I saw the the latest sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch #232 to use one of my Papertrey Ink split sentiment stamps. I basically lined the stamp up with my Misti and stamped the same image twice to create a similar strip to what is on the sketch.
I then added a strip of patterned paper and used my Copic Markers to add some colour to the lines.
So now I finally have at least one masculine card in my collection! Thanks for stopping to visit today! Em x
My brand new Happy Hippo stamps from MFT arrived this week. They are so cute and I have been super excited to try them out!
Every time I look at this cute little hippo I smile he is just adorable. I masked the hippo so that I could add some balloons and did some Copic Colouring.
I am entering my card in to the following challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches 298
CASology where the theme is balloon as they are celebrating their 5th Anniversary!
Thanks for stopping to take a peek! Em x
Well it is already Friday! I’m not quite sure where the week went but it certainly wasn’t spent in my craft room!!! Part of it I know was doing all the dishes by hand as the dishwasher decided to die on me.
Anyway this afternoon I decided no matter what I was headed to the craft room for some “me” time before the chaos of the weekend began. My first project was to create a card for the current challenge at Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #292 where Laurie has made a video on Color Blocking. I decided to use a Papertrey Ink stamp set that I bought ages ago and really have barely inked up from the Canned set.
I also created some stamped flowers using Papertrey’s Gran’s Garden stamp set. I added some clear Nuvo drops to the centres of the flowers for some extra texture. I finished my card off with a sentiment from the newest My Monthly Hero kit.
Thanks for visiting! Em
