Merry Mousemas!

Wow it’s hard to believe that 2017 is nearly over. Over at CAS Colours and Sketches we have the very last challenge for this year. Similar to the colour challenge from last week, this week you can choose any sketch challenge from our 2017 gallery and make it seasonal.

I chose to make a card to to fit with Sketch Challenge #237!

My card uses one of my favourite Christmas stamp sets featuring sweet little mice and is from Clearly Besotted. I teamed my little mouse up with a trio of windows that are cut from a Papertrey Ink die (it was part of a Christmas set from a couple of years back) and it cuts all the tiny pieces out to reveal what is behind the window. I used some distress oxide ink to make a night sky and mounted this behind my windows with some foam tape for dimension.

Have a great week and hopefully you will get a chance to play along at CAS Colours and Sketches this week! Em

Wonderful Christmas!

I don’t know about everyone else but December seems to be flying for us. I only have to look at the calendar to see all the events we have on this month and it sends me in to a panic. My older 2 kids are also about to become Primary School seniors (gulp – that sounds so grown up and makes me feel old!)

I’ve also been flat out with our gorgeous little puppies. They are so sweet and I know I am going to shed many tears when they go to their new families. I’m still trying to convince hubby that one of them will be staying with us. Hopefully the awesome Christmas presents I am getting him will soften his heart!

Anyway in amongst all the chaos I have found time to create a card for this week’s challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. This week is a little different in that you can select any colour challenge from 2017 and create a festive themed card! I decided to go with the colours from Challenge #239.

Wonderful Christmas card

My stamps are all from Papertrey Ink and Hero Arts.  I used a word die from Hero Arts that I die cut several times to add dimension and then heat embossed! I also included some very subtle white sequins for some added texture!

I hope in amongst the chaos of December you get a chance to play along this week at CAS Colours and Sketches. Em
