I am back today with a card for the latest sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. This month Bev is our host and she has come up with this sketch for the week…
As soon as I saw the sketch I thought of a sun. It may have something to do with the really hot weather we are experiencing right now! I still find it so strange to read blogs from around the world and hear people commenting about the cold!
I’ve used one of the Hero Arts sets for my card and created my sun with some basic ink blending. I heat embossed the tree with black and although I quite like the black on black look (it is not so subtle in real life) I’m not 100% sure that it works! I’ve also kept it very CAS – maybe too CAS? I’m not sure is there such a thing as too CAS?!
Anyway it was fun to play around with this sketch and create something a little different to what I normally do. I hope you get a chance to play along this week. It’s another hot day here so what better way to keep cool than to colour pictures of ice-creams and froyo. I decided to make one of them purple to fit in with the current challenge at Less is More.

We are still enjoying Summer holidays here in Australia. Lots of nice sleep ins and time in the pool as we try to keep cool. Unfortunately my craft room has been somewhat abandoned for the time as the kids and I enjoy the last couple of relaxing weeks before the chaos of the new school year begins.
I did manage to sneak in a quick card for the colour challenge this week at CAS Colours and Sketches. Beverley is our host for January and she has chosen this really pretty trio of colours for us to create with!
I had quite a few ideas for this combination but one of my gifts for Christmas was the Altenew layered rose set and I was super keen to ink it up. The flowers and sentiment are both from this set! I double stamped the stem of flowers so they were intertwined.
To finish the card off I White heat embossed a Hero Arts dotted stamp and added a grey ribbon for some texture as the rest of my card is very simple.

The past few weeks have seemed to zoom past and today we are back at CAS Colours and Sketches with a new challenge after taking a break for a couple of weeks. To start the year off Beverley has come up with this cute sketch.
I decided to use a Lawn Fawn die to create a little slot and and I attached a cat from MFT stamps so that it is hanging from the slot.
Then when you open the card you can see the back of the cat…

I’ve just finished up another card featuring The Sweet Friends stamp from Lawn Fawn. This card is for the latest challenge over at CASology .
I’ve kept my card super CAS and let my little S’more be the star. I can’t wait to send this off to one of my friends – I am sure it will make her smile!

It seems like ages since my last post! It is summer holidays here so I have been busy keeping the kids occupied, entertained, fed, happy etc etc etc. I’m exhausted!!! I was super excited when the Sweet Friends set arrived from Lawn Fawn this week especially when the kids were just as excited as it mean’t they were happy to sit and stamp + colour with me for a few hours. There is nothing like some creative family time inside on a 43 degrees celsius day!
