Stamp-A-Faire 2017

Papertrey Ink have just had their annual Stamp-A-Faire event for 2017! If you haven’t checked it out then head over to Nicole Heady’s blog  to see all the amazing ideas and inspiration the team have come up with. I would have loved to have tried out each and every technique but unfortunately I didn’t get time.

Here are some of the cards I did get to make…

For the 10 Minute Warm Up Challenge I chose to be inspired by this image and ink colours that reminded me very much of all the wattle that is blossoming all around my area. This is very much springtime in Australia!

I made my card using the Papertrey Ink Spring Beautiful Berries set and created some little branches of wattle all over the background.

For my second card I tried out Rebecca Luminarias’ Paper Techinque and created some little palm leaves using watered down re-inker and the Papertrey Ink Mighty Jungle dies. I kept the rest of the card really simple with some spattered black ink and a little glossy accents on my die cut sentiment.

For my last card I played along with Yana Smakula’s Iron technique and used one of the Papertrey Ink Shaker hearts dies to create my card. Oh boy my muscles got a really work out with this card as my Cuttlebug didn’t like cutting this one. It may be time to upgrade my machines as I found it so frustrating!!!

Metal Heart card

I can’t say I am in love with my card as it isn’t anywhere near as wonderful as Yana’s however I am looking forward to trying this again when I have a little more time to play around!

I have another couple of cards sitting on my craft desk for Stamp-A-Faire but unfortunately I don’t think I will have time to finish them off this week. Thanks ladies at Papertrey Ink for your amazing videos and inspiration!!!

Sorry for the really loooooong post. Have a great day! Em x

I’m dreaming…

It’s been another busy week around here with lots of grey skies and rain. Perhaps that’s why as soon as I saw the sketch for this week at CAS Colours and Sketches I decided to go with some bright and colourful cocktails. I’m dreaming of a beautiful, sunny beach, cocktail in hand… oh it would be so nice!

Here is the sketch for this week…

And here is my cocktail card…

Drinks card

I went with a simple black and white colour scheme to really make those cocktails pop! The stamps are all from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you get time this week to play along with the sketch over at CAS Colours & Sketches. Em x

Hey!

Hey just stopping past with a quick post for the latest challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches which is a colour challenge…

Gulfriend card.jpg

This is a super quick post tonight as my youngest is recovering from surgery so I am on full time nursing duty which translates to I am completely and utterly exhausted!

Have a great week and I look forward to seeing all your wonderful entries. Em x

Birthday Bear!

This week over at CAS Colour and Sketches it is time for a brand new sketch!

For my card I have used one of my favourite stamp sets from MFT and I decided to reverse the sketch so that my bear was looking in to the card!

Don’t forget to check out the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge to see what the Design Team have created with the sketch for this week. I look forward to seeing all your entries. Em

Pearly Mermaid

Over at Muse Challenge #227 the theme is anything goes. Sometimes when I am given free reign I tend to struggle as I go overboard bringing out so many ideas until I become overwhelmed. That being said I actually really enjoyed having lots of creative freedom this time and found it really relaxing to limit myself to one stamp set and a couple of other items that I have purchased and not used very often.

Pearl card

The gorgeous stamp set is from the Hero Arts monthly kit from a couple of months ago. She has got lots of sparkle on her tail but it doesn’t show so well in the picture. The palm fronds are from Papertrey Ink. I inked up some paper with lots of green hues and then die cut the fronds. I love the sentiment and can’t wait to send this card off to a friend as a “just because card.” Having received a heap of bills in the post this week I always love sending out happy mail to friends just to brighten up their day.

Thanks for dropping by! Em x

Raw-Some

It is cold, wet and windy here so the perfect day for some cardmaking. When I saw the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 299 I immediately thought of bamboo. Luckily I have an MFT stamp with bamboo images!

FMS Final 299-001

I kept the colours to a minimum with a big pop of colour for the sushi.

Awesome Panda card

Thanks for visiting today! I hope wherever you are it is warm and sunny (unlike here!) Em x

Hello Sweet Pea!

Oh my gosh I can’t believe it is August! Over at CAS Colours & Sketches we have a brand new hostess for August – Patricia! This week she has some colours for us to play with!

I decided that these tones would work well with the My Monthly Hero Kit from July. Here is what I came up with…

I look forward to seeing your creations for this week. Don’t forget to check out the CAS Colours and Sketches blog for lots of inspiration from the Design Team. Have a great week! Em x
