Christmas is coming…

I always find Christmas sneaks up on me and I always have the best intentions of having plenty of cards ready but each year I never have enough! I am determined this year for this not to be the case and so when I saw the latest sketch for CAS Colours and Sketches I was sure that I had to make it a Christmas theme.

For my card I have used a brand new set that arrived just this week from Hero Arts featuring these cute little birds with sentiments on them.

Trick Or Treat!

I received in the post the cutest little stamps from Lawn Fawn. They are just adorable and even though Halloween isn’t really as big a thing here in Australia as it is overseas I am so glad I bought this set!

When I saw the latest sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch Challenge #239 I thought these stamps would work in well with a dark forest behind them.

Here is what I came up with…

Chillin Out!

Another week has flown and it is time again for a brand new colour challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches. This week Fiona has chosen these colours to work with…

It too me a little time to come up with a concept for this one as the colours are all quite dark and moody. In the end they really made me thing of winter so that is what I went with…

Chill out card

This cute little stamp set is from Clearly Besotted and I used it a lot last year on my Christmas cards as they were easy to mass produce. I can hardly believe it is about time to start thinking of Christmas cards already! What a scary thought. This year has flown all too fast again!

Don’t forget to look at all the gorgeous inspiration from the CAS Colours and Sketches Design team and I hope you get time to upload a card to the gallery this week!

Have a great week! Em

Little Ants

This week Fiona is back over at the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog with a really fun sketch for us to all try.

I will interested to see all the ideas people have but for me when I saw the design I was drawn to using this cute little ant stamp from Lawn Fawn.

I used some bright and summery patterned papers to mat my card base on and pick up on the tones of the watermelon. My watermelon is Copic coloured and the little sentiment is from a floral set from Altenew ( I can’t think of the name of it just now!)

I hope you will get the time to check out the Design Team’s creations for this week and get some inspiration to play along!

Have a great week! Em

Autumn Leaves

Living in Australia I always find it strange to see all my cardmaking friends around the world celebrating opposite seasons to us down south. We’ve just started spring here although you wouldn’t know it as it is so wet and gloomy!

When I saw the colours that Fiona had chosen this week for the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge I immediately thought of Fall or Autumn leaves which is very appropriate given that a lot of you are experiencing the beginning of Autumn/Fall.

Falling Leaves card

To create my card I have used these cute little leaves that are a die from Simon Says Stamp. I love the little details on the leaves and the fact that it is so easy to glue them down and curl the edges up for dimension. They create a really pretty shadow effect underneath and look like they are falling!

I can’t wait to see all you ideas using these really pretty colours. Don’t forget to check the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog for all the design team inspiration and to add your entry!

Have a great week! Em
